Leyenda is a roleplaying game that provides everything your group needs to create their own legendary tale. The Scenarios provide endless inspiring possibilities to create and embody their protagonists. They will face dramatic conflicts while pursuing their motivations, bringing them closer to resolve the crisis which affects their community. Thus, answering the narrative inquiry that the Premise proposes for the Scenario.
Roleplaying games are games of social fiction: the rules guide the creation of group fiction. The game Director describes interesting fictional situations, the other Players decide how their protagonists face them. When conflict arises, the rules will be there to help them unveil what happens next. What will they uncover about the world? What challenges will they face? What story will they create by playing?
Starting with a community, what are their moral Principles? What is the crisis that afflicts it? Maybe someone’s Ambition is changing it; it must repair a transgression embarking on a Mission; suffers the Intrigue among factions; or the oppressed launch a Rebellion against the powerful.
In Leyenda you can also play as a member of the Chorus: you will judge the actions of the protagonists and decide how they shape the world. Helping mold the type of legendary tale you are about to create.
Each protagonist has a Legendary Trait that makes them unique. If they use it to overcome a dramatic challenge; their Player throws the Legendary Dice. Will their effort become a tragic failure or an epic success?
